Hoda
A free Shia Islamic learning app for kids
Hoda teaches children their faith a little at a time: short lessons with readings and questions, a friendly bee, and gentle daily practice. Lessons are chosen for your child's age, from five years old.
What your child learns
- Who Allah is, and why He is One
- The Qur'an, with real recitations of its verses
- Prayer and worship, step by step
- The Prophet and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)
- Good character at home and with others
Made for children, safe for families
- No ads and no leaderboards — a child is never compared with another
- Several learner profiles under one parent account
- Rewards are never taken away: missed days cost nothing
- Works as an app on phone, tablet or computer
Questions
- What age is Hoda for?
- Children can start from age 5. The lessons are grouped by age, so a five-year-old and a twelve-year-old see different lessons — and parents can learn too.
- Is Hoda really free?
- Yes. Every lesson is free, there are no ads, and you can start without an account. Hoda is kept going by voluntary gifts.
- Do I need to sign up?
- No. You can start straight away on this device. A free account is only needed to keep progress safe and use it on other devices.
- Which languages does Hoda speak?
- The app is available in 15 languages, including English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and German. Lessons are written natively in each language as they are released, not machine-translated from English.
